มะเร็งเยื่อบุมดลูก เป็นมะเร็งที่พบได้น้อยกว่ามะเร็งปากมดลูกและมะเร็งรังไข่ มักตรวจพบโรคในระยะแรก ๆ และได้รับการดูแลรักษาได้ผลดี เนื่องจากผู้ป่วยมักมีอาการเลือดออกทางช่องคลอดตั้งแต่เป็นมะเร็งระยะแรก
พบมากในช่วงอายุ 40-60 ปี
สาเหตุ
ยังไม่ทราบแน่ชัด เชื่อว่ามีความสัมพันธ์กับความไม่สมดุลของฮอร์โมนทำให้มีระดับเอสโทรเจนสูง
พบว่ามีปัจจัยเสี่ยงของการเกิดมะเร็งชนิดนี้ ได้แก่
การมีกรรมพันธุ์ที่ผิดปกติ
การมีประจำเดือนครั้งแรกก่อนอายุ 12 ปี
ภาวะไม่มีบุตร หรือมีบุตรเมื่ออายุมาก
ภาวะอ้วน หรือเป็นเบาหวาน
การบริโภคไขมันสัตว์มาก
การตกไข่ไม่สม่ำเสมอ (เช่น กลุ่มอาการถุงน้ำรังไข่ชนิดหลายถุง)
การได้รับฮอร์โมนทดแทนในวัยหมดประจำเดือนด้วยเอสโทรเจนล้วน ๆ (ไม่มีโพรเจสเทอโรนผสม) เป็นเวลานาน
เคยได้รับการฉายรังสีบริเวณเชิงกราน
การใช้ยาต้านเอสโทรเจน (เช่น tamoxifen ซึ่งเป็นยาที่ใช้รักษามะเร็งเต้านม)
อายุมาก (มักพบโรคนี้ในหญิงหลังวัยหมดประจำเดือน)
การมีประวัติโรคมะเร็งเยื่อบุมดลูก มะเร็งเต้านม หรือมะเร็งลำไส้ใหญ่ในครอบครัว
อาการ
มักมีอาการมีเลือดประจำเดือนออกมากหรือนานผิดปกติ มีของเหลวสีชมพูหรือสีขาวออกทางช่องคลอด หรือมีเลือดออกทางช่องคลอดหลังวัยหมดประจำเดือน ปวดท้องน้อย
บางรายอาจมีอาการเจ็บปวดขณะถ่ายปัสสาวะหรือร่วมเพศ น้ำหนักลด ซีดจากการเสียเลือด อาจคลำได้ก้อนที่บริเวณท้องน้อย
ภาวะแทรกซ้อน
อาจเกิดภาวะซีดเนื่องจากการมีเลือดออกเรื้อรังทางช่องคลอด
หากปล่อยปละละเลยมะเร็งอาจลุกลามไปที่กระเพาะปัสสาวะ ทวารหนัก ช่องคลอด ท่อรังไข่ รังไข่ และแพร่กระจายผ่านกระแสเลือดไปที่อวัยวะอื่น ๆ (เช่น ปอด ตับ กระดูก) ทำให้เกิดอาการแทรกซ้อนของอวัยวะต่าง ๆ ที่มะเร็งแพร่กระจายไป เช่น ขับถ่ายลำบาก ถ่ายเป็นเลือด เจ็บปวดขณะถ่ายปัสสาวะหรือร่วมเพศ ปวดท้อง ท้องมาน เจ็บหน้าอก หายใจลำบาก ปวดกระดูก ปวดหลัง น้ำหนักลด ตัวเหลืองตาเหลือง เป็นต้น
